Selina, violin

selinaSelina Tang started learning the violin and piano at the age of five, and has since been the student of Qian Zhou and Alexander Souptel (both professors at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music), in addition to having studied at the Royal College of Music (Junior Department) and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.

She was the top prize-winner at the violin senior category of the National Piano and Violin Competition (Singapore) in 2009, and a selected participant of the Menuhin International Competition 2010, Oslo. She has performed at a variety of events, ranging from solo performances with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and Braddell Heights Symphony Orchestra to the 120th anniversary of Raffles Hotel and former minister mentor Lee Kuan Yew’s 81st birthday celebration (2007), and National Day Parades (2009 and 2010).

In addition, Selina likes to try her best to give back to her community through music, aiding the production and launch of charity CDs and performing at charity events such as ChildAid (2006 and 2008).
