Ophelia, cello

OpheliaOphelia graduated with a Bachelors of Music (Hons) in Cello Performance from the Royal College of Music, London – Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) Programme in 2017.

An active cellist in the music industry, Ophelia often performs with various established orchestras and chamber groups such as the Singapore Lyric Opera (SLO), SPOT Pocket Opera Theatre (SPOT), Music For People Foundation Orchestra (MFPFO), Orchestra of Music Makers (OMM), The Young Musician Foundation Orchestra (TYMFO Singapore), NAFA Orchestra, and NAFA Project Strings.

Her passion and patience in nurturing young musicians also made her a well sought-after educator. She currently holds teaching positions in various school orchestras and strings ensembles such as Dover Court International School, Anglo-Chinese School (Secondary), Catholic High School (Primary), Chong Fu School, Dazhong Primary School, Greendale Secondary School, Palm View Primary School, Rosyth School, St. Hilda’s Primary and as a part-time instructor in Singapore Polytechnic. Ophelia has also taught school curriculum music classes and strings enrichment classes in schools such as Greenwood Primary School, Kheng Cheng School, Maha Bohdi School and Townsville Primary School.

Ophelia has been under the tutelage of Singapore Symphony Orchestra cellist, Zhao Yu Er, as well as Kenneth Lee Hou Koon and Lin Juan. During her international placement at the Royal College of Music in London, she also had the opportunity to study with Professor Amanda Truelove. On top of that, she was also awarded the privilege to work with Natalie Clein and Leslie Tan in various master classes.
