Neville was introduced to music since the day he was born. He picked up the violin at a tender age of 3 in the Suzuki Music School and thereby, began his musical adventure. In 1999, at the age of 5, he started learning the piano at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) under the School of Young Talents. Neville excelled in both instruments and by 2004, he not only passed the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Grade 8 level for violin and piano, but also earned distinctions in them.
The breakthrough came in 2008 when Neville obtained the Associate Diploma from the Royal Schools of Music (dipABRSM) for piano, and Associate Diploma from Trinity College of Music (ATCL) for his violin. Here on, he knew music was going to be his life. Three years later, he further obtained the Licentiate Diploma from the Royal Schools of Music (LRSM) for piano, and Licentiate Diploma from Trinity College of Music (LTCL) for Violin with distinction. In 2017, Neville obtained the Fellowship Diploma from Trinity College of Music (FTCL) for Violin.
In 2002, Neville discovered his love for Ensemble playing when he joined Raffles Institution String Ensemble for 2 performances. He later went on to join Singapore National Youth Orchestra (SNYO) in 2009 and travelled to Aberdeen (Scotland) and Berlin (Germany) with SNYO in year 2011 and 2012. In 2014, he was selected to participate in the 30th Toyota Youth Orchestra Camp in Tokyo where he worked with musicians from the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Currently, he is pursuing his musical studies under Mr Zuo Jun (Head of Violin) at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music. He previously studied with Mr Chan Yoong Han (Fixed Chair, Singapore Symphony Orchestra) and Mr Igor Yuzefovich (Concert Master, Singapore Symphony Orchestra and BBC Symphony). He has also participated in masterclasses conducted by Ilya Kaler, Mauricio Fuks, William Van Der Sloot, Blair Milton, Violaine Melacon, Alena Baeva, Xu Ming Huan, Sebastian Bohren, Ryo Terekado, David Takeno, Shanghai Quartet and Siow Lee Chin. Earlier in 2018, he was invited to lead the Taoyuan City Jungli Youth Orchestra from Taiwan for a performance in Korea at the KBS Hall. In that Summer, he participated in the “Summer Violin Institute” at the Northwestern University in Chicago.
Since 2007, Neville has been playing for various school choirs around Singapore as their accompanist for different performances including the Singapore Youth Festival Central Judging competition. These schools include Kent Ridge Secondary, Damai Secondary, Greenridge Secondary, Geylang Methodist Secondary, Geylang Methodist Primary, Pei Chun Primary, Nan Chiau Primary and Red Swastika School.
During his national service with the Singapore Civil Defence Force, Neville was in the Music and Performing Arts Club. He performed for many high-ranking government officials, both local and international.
