Karen Harp

Karen has been learning the harp since the age of 4 from her mother, who is also a harpist. After her O Levels, she decided to study Music and enrolled in the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts School Of Music, majoring in harp performance. She is currently under the tutelage of Ms Huang Yu-Hsin.

Some of her achievements include being the first Singaporean to be a Finalist in the Emerging Artist (up to 19) category in the Young Artist Harp Competition 2016, held in Georgia, USA. Other competitions include the First Asian Harp Chamber Competition 2015 in Singapore, where she attained a Distinction award as part of a harp duo, and recently she participated in the 28th Nippon Harp Competition in Soka, Japan. In school, she is the recipient of the Teresa Hsu Scholarship.

Karen has performed with the NAFA Orchestra, re:mix and The Philharmonic Orchestra. She was the harp soloist for the Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy for Violin, Harp and Orchestra, performed by re:mix at their 10th anniversary concert in 2016.

Karen has been performing for weddings and corporate events since the age of 8. At present, she is the resident harpist at The Fullerton Hotel, Singapore.
