Junsian is currently pursuing his music degree in the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) under the tutelage of Leslie Tan from The T’ang Quartet. His mentors include Xuzhong, principal cellist of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra. He is a recipient of the Tan Chin Tuan Merit Award, Yamaha Music Scholarship, the Kris Foundation Scholarship and the OCBC Local Undergraduate Scholarship.
Junsian was the cello principal in the Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra. During his national service days, Junsian served in The Music and Drama Company’s String Quartet. In 2016, Junsian joined the Toa Payoh West Community Centre Chinese Orchestra and clinched the first prize (ensemble category) in the National Arts Council Chinese Music Competition. He is also very active in the Singapore arts scene. In addition to performing with Ding Yi, he performs with The Philharmonic Orchestra and re: mix.
