Joelle studied at the Eastman School of Music where she was one of the youngest students in her intake to enter the school at 16 yrs. Similarly at NYU, she was also one of the youngest in her cohort commencing her Masters program at age 20. Concurrent with her studies at NYU, she held the post of Adjunct Instructor in violin.
As an active freelance Violinist in Singapore, she recently performed for the 20th Asian Television Awards and has also performed alongside superstars like Richard Marx, Jacky Cheung, Michael Buble (both in Singapore and KL), Kitaro, Il Divo, just to name a few. She is also very proud to have been the only Violinist for the LKY Musical in 2015 held at the Marina Bay Sands. Joelle has also served as Concertmaster with The Young Musicians’ Foundation Orchestra, and has played with the Singapore Lyric Opera, The Metropolitian Festival Orchestra, and many more.
She is also a very passionate teacher. Apart from teaching privately, she is also a violin instructor at Tanjong Katong Girls’ School and a Violin and Piano Instructor at the Stamford American International School.
She was involved in numerous performances and had been concertmaster of a Nyack College performance held at the Avery Fischer Hall at the Lincoln Center, served as Principal 2nd in a concert with the Eagles at the Beacon Theatre, and toured with the Schleswig Holstein Festival Orchestra when they performed in Berlin, Salzburg, and Hamburg. In the summer of 2011, she was part of the AIMS festival orchestra held in Austria, Graz, she was granted the honor to perform in a chamber group for the Graz Governor’s reception. In the past summer of 2009, she won 2nd prize in the 3rd International Asean Concerto Competition, and performed with the National Symphony of Indonesia.
Besides the violin, Joelle also holds a diploma in piano. She has performed around New York City at the Lincoln center, Symphony space, Beacon theatre, Town hall, Tenri Cultural Institute, just to name a few.
