Evangeline, cello

EvangelineEvangeline Koh started playing the cello at the age of 11 and completed her Grade 8 from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music at the age of 16. Since picking up the cello, Evangeline has been involved in many chamber ensembles and orchestras, most notably with the Singapore National Youth Orchestra (SNYO), where she was the Associate Cello Principal. She performed with SNYO for 5 years, and toured with the orchestra to Florence, Italy, in 2008 where the orchestra participated in the 10th Florence International Music Festival. She was also involved with the Orchestra of Music Makers (OMM), and she toured with OMM to the U.K Cheltenham and Lichfield Music Festival in 2012.

Evangeline has given solo cello performances in various international conferences and events as a cellist such as the La Salle Musical Theater’s production, The Spelling Bee, ChildAid 2010, YouTube Sensations Under The Stars concert as a soloist with Madilyn Bailey (a youtube celebrity singer), Footprints Soundwaves featuring Sebastian Tan, and she also appeared live on television as a soloist for Suria live in 2011 and 2013.

Besides the cello, Evangeline also plays the piano, achieving a Grade 8 from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in 2007. She is an experienced piano accompanist, and has accompanied primary school choirs at the 2008 and 2010 Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) Central Judging.

Evangeline has been under the tutelage of Li Cheng, cellist with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, whom she has been learning with since her foundation years, and Yu Jing, associate principle cellist of Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

Evangeline is currently studying in Singapore Bible College (SBC) for her degree in Church Music, majoring in piano.
