Eva Lin Chun Yi began learning the piano at the age of 7 and the cello at the age of 9. She obtained ABRSM Grade 8 piano and high distinction in cello in her last year in secondary school. Subsequently, she joined the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), where she obtained a Diploma in Music Performance Cello Major in 2010.

Eva has been performing in an array of ensembles and chamber groups. In her secondary school days, she was the assistant principal cellist and sectional leader of the string ensemble. She has also more than 7 years of orchestral performing experience. In particular, she played regularly with The Philharmonic Orchestra, having participated in a few big projects such as Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro, Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Handel’s Messiah at the Esplanade Concert Hall and Theatre. She is actively working with the School Of The Arts (SOTA) teacher’s quartet, performing in SOTA student concerts.

Eva has also performed in numerous pop and jazz concerts featuring local celebrities such as Dick Lee, Rahimah Rahim, Taufik Batisah, Hady Mirza, Dawn Yip, and Emma Yong; and other concerts such as for the Singapore NEA 2011 theme song, countdown live concert and Orchard fashion runway events. She is also a recording artist for local pop scenes and TV commercials, working with local pop music composers such as Ko Sherman. She has also performed with several overseas artists such as Jeff Chang from Taiwan, Francis Yip from Hong Kong, Zhuang Xue Zhong from Malaysia, and Lee You and Chris Wang from China.

In 2013, Eva performed in a well-known Chinese musical – Glass Anatomy – with lead singer-actress Della Ding, a famous singer in the Chinese pop industry. Eva has also performed solo on the electric cello at Paragon Singapore for the launch of a new product line, a result of a collaboration between BMW & Prada.

Apart from being a freelance musician, Eva has more than eight years of teaching experience, including teaching in government schools such as the Methodist Girls’ School and international schools such as the German-European School. She is a very much sought-after teacher under the name Cellissimo!.
