Clarissa, Violin

Clarissa studied at the Royal Academy of Music and graduated with a Bachelor of Music degree. She is also an alumnus of the specialist music school, Wells Cathedral School, in Somerset England. There, she was the Principal Second Violinist of the Wells String Chamber Orchestra and gave her first solo performance of Szymanowski’s Violin Concerto no.1 which was highly commended for musicality. Clarissa studied with Sophie Langdon, Gabrielle Painter and Leland Chen, as well as Catherine Lord and Lynette Lim. She has also been privileged to play in masterclasses with Zuo Jun, So Ock Kim, Ning Feng and Suzuki Sawa.

Clarissa has played with orchestras in both London and Singapore. To name a few are The London Mahler Orchestra, Arch Sinfonia, Young Musicians’ Symphony Orchestra, ADDO Orchestra and The Young Musicians’ Foundation Orchestra. She has been honoured to have worked under the tutelage of Semyon Bychkov, Ed Gardner, Sir Mark Elder, Christopher Adey, Christopher Warren-Green and the late Oliver Knussen.

With a great love for chamber music, Clarissa has performed in various chamber groups. Some highlights include having worked with classical guitarist Giacomo Susani on his premiere for string quartet and guitar, as well as a clarinet quintet project. Currently, she is part of The Tee Trio which has been actively performing across England as young artists. They have been awarded prestigious scholarships to study with Thomas Ades in the International Musicians’ Seminar Prussia Cove and the Cadenza Music Course with Carole Presland, Alexander Baillie, Leland Chen and John Thwaites. They have also been Young Artists at the Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival, Lichfield Festival and gave their debut performance in July 2018 at the prestigious St James’ Piccadilly Church in London.
