Andrew, Violin

Violinist Andrew is one of South-East Asia’s up and coming young talents of his generation. Prior to his arrival in Singapore, he was former concertmaster of the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and member of the Kuala Lumpur String Project.

Andrew’s travels have taken him around the world, with performances in numerous music festivals including the Euro Arts Music Festival in Wuppertal, Germany, the Bowdoin Festival in Maine, US and the New Virtuosi International Violin Masterclass on tour in Italy. Besides that, trips to attend festivals in Austria, Slovenia and Wales have provided Andrew with a unique perspective on music performance.

As a chamber musician, Andrew regularly appears in collaborations with other musicians, including violinist Chikako Sasaki, cellist Leslie Tan and composer Tan Yu Ting. His performances put him in direct contact with The Orchestra of Music Makers, The Kris Foundation, and even with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra on occasion.

After a recent exchange at the Sibelius Academy of Music, Andrew Ng is finishing his degree in the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of former Singapore Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Alexander Souptel.
