Tat, Viola

Tat started learning the piano at 5 years old and the violin at 9 years old. He was under tutelage of Mr Pisoot Saay-Op-Oua, assistant concertmaster of the Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra. Tat then picked up the viola at the age of 17 when he was admitted into the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts where he received the NAFA Talent Scholarship. He is currently studying the viola in NAFA under the tutelage of Ms Marietta Ku, violist of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.

Tat is an active violist – he has performed with several groups and orchestras both in Thailand and Singapore. He was appointed as the principal second violin of the Thai Youth Orchestra. He performed with many orchestras in Thailand including the Thai Youth Orchestra, SSMS Orchestra, Bangkok Charity Orchestra, Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, The Philharmonic Orchestra, and Seira Orchestra.

He has worked with many famous musicians such as Boris Belkin, Michel Tilkin, Nicholas Ong, Su Yiwen and attended masterclasses with Yuri Zhislin and members of the Vision String Quartet.

In his free time, Tat enjoys film photography and listening to classical music.
