May is currently a Master’s student at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf in Germany under the tutelage of Niklas Schwarz. In 2018, May graduated from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Music (with Honours) in Viola Performance, where she had studied with T’ang Quartet violist Lionel Tan. She is the recipient of many prestigious awards including the Lee Siong Tay Postgraduate Scholarship (2019), the Trailblazer Foundation Grant (2019), as well a full scholarship awarded by the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music.
As an active freelance musician, May is frequently invited to perform with many local orchestras including the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, the Singapore Lyric Opera Orchestra and Base Philharmonic Orchestra (Base Entertainment Asia) amongst many others. May has also participated in many music festivals abroad such as the International Summer Music Academy Mozarteum (Austria), Allegro Vivo Summer Academy (Austria) and Young Euro Classic (Germany).
Since 2013, May has been a musician with the VETTA Quartet. She has been consistent in providing quality music for numerous events ranging from weddings to corporate dinners and ministerial events.
